Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz meets Spain's ambassador, proposing a joint working group on climate change, smog, and urban planning cooperation.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed interest in benefiting from the Spanish city of Barcelona's experience in urban planning, particularly in making roads and public spaces more people-friendly. She expressed this interest at a meeting with Ambassador of Spain Carlos Aragon Gil de la Serna in Lahore.
Climate Cooperation on the Table
The Chief Minister said Punjab also wants to benefit from Spain's experience in dealing with climate change challenges and smog. She proposed the formation of a joint working group to address challenges relating to forest fires, air pollution, and heatwaves.
A Note on Palestine
Maryam Nawaz also appreciated Spain's decision to recognize the State of Palestine, paying tribute to the Spanish government for the initiative.
Spain's Response
The Spanish Ambassador expressed his interest in further strengthening cooperation between Spain and Punjab.
