PM Inaugurates National Technology Park in Islamabad, Names It “Daanish Technology Park”

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated the state-of-the-art National Technology Park in Islamabad and named it “Daanish Technology Park.” Addressing the ceremony, he called the facility a milestone towards Pakistan’s progress and prosperity, and announced that similar modern technology parks will be established across the country, including in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, as part of the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.

More Than an Infrastructure Project

The Prime Minister said the park is not merely an infrastructure project but a complete ecosystem bringing together incubation centres, industrialists, entrepreneurs, IT experts, academia, SMEs and tech startups. He directed the relevant authorities to start a transparent bidding process and invite top national and international IT and AI companies to operate the facility.

Minister’s Remarks

IT and Telecommunication Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the park will serve as a digital business and technology ecosystem, and credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership for making it possible. She said public-private partnerships have helped set up small technology centres in 65 districts over the last two years, and that 135 of these centres currently provide young people with round-the-clock internet access to polish their skills.
