PM Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev agree in a phone call to strengthen economic, trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have agreed to strengthen economic, trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. During a telephone conversation, the two leaders reaffirmed their countries’ brotherly relations, longstanding friendship and strategic partnership.

Built on Trust

PM Shehbaz said the relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust and support for each other’s vital national interests. The leaders agreed to turn the close political understanding between Pakistan and Azerbaijan into stronger economic, trade and investment partnerships.

Progress in Cooperation

They welcomed progress in bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including the ongoing project to establish an Asaan Khidmat Center (PAKC) in Islamabad.

Regional Peace Efforts

The Prime Minister briefed President Aliyev on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace, dialogue and de-escalation, and the Azerbaijani president praised Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role. The two leaders also discussed regional and global developments and stressed the need for continued consultations and close contact on matters of mutual interest.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership for shared development, prosperity and mutual benefit.
