Lahore AQI Hits 236 as Smog Worsens

Lahore records an AQI of 236 on November 3, as worsening smog raises health concerns and residents are advised to limit outdoor exposure.
Lahore Records Unhealthy Air Quality
Lahore's air quality remained unhealthy on November 3, 2026, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 236, according to the reading cited in the report.
The level indicates significant air pollution and raises concerns for residents, particularly children, older people and those with respiratory conditions.
Smog Conditions Affect Punjab
Seasonal smog continues to affect Lahore and other parts of Punjab. Vehicle emissions, industrial activity, construction dust and crop-residue burning contribute to pollution, while weak winds and cooler temperatures can trap pollutants close to the ground.
Other monitoring updates showed considerable variation in readings during the day. IQAir's city ranking recorded Lahore at 236 around midday, while other reports cited much higher readings at different times.
Residents Advised to Take Precautions
People are advised to reduce prolonged outdoor activity, especially during periods of heavy pollution. Wearing a well-fitted mask outdoors and keeping windows closed when air quality is poor may help reduce exposure.
Residents should pay particular attention to symptoms such as breathing difficulty, persistent coughing or chest discomfort and seek medical advice when needed.
