Punjab Seeks French Investment Under PIVOT Plan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has invited French investors to explore business opportunities in the province under the Punjab Innovation for Value, Opportunity and Transformation (PIVOT) plan.

She made the invitation during a meeting with newly appointed French Ambassador to Pakistan Jean-Noël Poirier in Lahore on October 31. Both sides discussed ways to expand trade, investment and industrial cooperation between Punjab and France.

Opportunities in Agriculture and Industry

Maryam Nawaz highlighted investment opportunities in agriculture, industry and livestock. She also invited French companies to participate in urban wastewater management projects planned for major cities across Punjab.

French businesses could also explore partnerships in food processing, dairy and agricultural value addition.

Energy and Infrastructure Projects

The chief minister pointed to opportunities for French energy companies in solar power, electricity grid development and energy-efficiency projects in industrial estates.

The discussions also covered broader industrial partnerships and ways to strengthen economic relations between the two sides.

The invitation is part of Punjab's effort to attract foreign investment and support industrial growth under the PIVOT programme. Any future projects will depend on investment decisions and agreements between the relevant companies and authorities.
