The UK and Allied Bank will fund two Pakistani students annually for UK master's degrees in technology, AI, cybersecurity and economics.

Two Scholarships Every Year

The UK government’s Chevening programme has partnered with Allied Bank Limited (ABL) to offer fully funded master’s scholarships to Pakistani students at leading universities in the United Kingdom.

Under the new Chevening-ABL Scholarship programme, two students will receive funding each year for three academic years, starting in 2027-28.

Priority Fields of Study

Selected students will be able to pursue master's degrees in subjects linked to technology and economic development, including:

  • Artificial intelligence

  • Technology and cybersecurity

  • Digital transformation

  • Economics

  • Financial inclusion

The partnership aims to support talented Pakistani students in developing professional skills and leadership experience through higher education in the UK.

Selection and Application Timeline

The first two scholars for the 2027-28 academic year will be selected from the existing pool of Chevening applicants. This means a separate application round for these initial awards is not being announced.

Applications for the 2028-29 Chevening-ABL scholarships are expected to open in August 2027, with successful candidates scheduled to begin their studies in the UK in 2028.

What the Funding Covers

Chevening scholarships generally provide financial support for tuition fees, living expenses and return flights. The programme also offers scholars opportunities to build professional networks and gain international academic experience.

The new partnership will support six Pakistani scholars over three academic years, with two awards planned annually.
