Pakistan approves major TDAP reforms, including AI and digital platforms, to support local businesses and increase exports.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved major reforms to modernize the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), aiming to increase exports and improve access to international markets.
Key Changes in TDAP
The proposed reforms include introducing digital platforms and artificial intelligence, restructuring management and improving support for exporters. The authority will also focus on eight core functions and strengthen its regional network.
Focus on Local Businesses
The reforms aim to help small and medium-sized businesses meet international standards and connect with global buyers. Special attention will also be given to agricultural exports and the development of a complete export value chain.
The government plans to complete the reform process by mid-2027 through a phased 12-month implementation plan.
