PM Removes 80% Export for SME Loans

Pakistan removes the 80% export requirement for SME financing, opening better access to long-term business loans and financial support.
rime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the removal of the requirement that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) must earn at least 80% of their revenue from exports to qualify for long-term financing.
More Financing Opportunities for Businesses
The decision aims to make business financing more accessible and support small companies seeking to expand their operations. The Prime Minister also directed banks to follow concessional financing rules and improve access to loans.
The government has allocated Rs300 billion under the Export Finance Scheme for SMEs and new exporters, while Rs350 billion has been earmarked for long-term financing. Pakistan currently has around 17,000 export-related SMEs
