Babar Azam has 20 ODI centuries, equalling Saeed Anwar’s record, and needs one more to become Pakistan’s outright leading ODI century-maker.

Babar Azam is on the verge of a new record in Pakistan’s One Day International cricket. The right-handed batter has scored 20 ODI centuries, equalling former opener Saeed Anwar’s record for the most hundreds by a Pakistani player in the format. With one more century, Babar would become Pakistan’s outright leading century-maker in ODIs.

How He Reached 20

Babar reached the milestone on November 14, 2025, with an unbeaten century against Sri Lanka in the second ODI at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. His innings helped Pakistan chase a target of 289 and win by eight wickets, giving the team an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Faster to the Mark

Babar reached 20 ODI hundreds in 136 innings, while Anwar took 244 innings, making Babar the faster of the two to the milestone.

Career Highlights

Babar made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in May 2015 and has become one of Pakistan’s leading batters. His consistent performances have earned major international recognition, including the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award in 2022.
