Google launched App Growth Lab in Pakistan, an initiative spanning four months that aims to identify promising app developers, studios, and companies seeking to accelerate and expand their businesses.

The programme provides comprehensive education and support to app developers, offering the opportunity to learn from Google experts in areas such as Ads, AdMob, Firebase, gTech, and Play, as well as industry leaders.

The introduction of the App Growth Lab programme follows the success of the Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan last year. Google’s commitment to fostering the local and global growth of Pakistan’s app industry is reflected in this programme, which will commence in June and run for four months. Interested organizations, app developers, and studios can apply until May 22, 2023.

According to a report by Data Darbar, a private markets intelligence platform, Pakistan’s app industry experienced a 35% growth in 2022, with 3.52 billion downloads. The App Growth Lab programme is built upon four key pillars: Build, Develop, Launch, and Scale.

  • The ‘Build’ component aims to assist participants in understanding the global app and gaming landscape, enabling them to devise a comprehensive strategy for their company.
  • The ‘Develop’ component focuses on adopting a user-centric approach to app and game product development, leveraging cutting-edge technology to ensure long-term success.
  • The ‘Launch’ component equips participants with strategies to achieve a successful launch, establish monetization models, and leverage Google’s data tools for measurable growth.
  • Meanwhile, the ‘Scale’ component imparts knowledge on expanding app reach globally by employing diversification strategies across markets and platforms.

Farhan S. Qureshi, Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, expressed the company’s dedication to supporting Pakistani developers in creating exceptional applications for the global market.

Saad Hameed, CEO of Game District, shared his positive experience with the Gaming Growth Lab Pakistan 2022, emphasizing the program’s valuable insights and comprehensive coverage of the mobile gaming industry domains. He mentioned implementing the acquired knowledge to optimize game performance.
