With more than eight million beneficiaries, the Benazir Income Support Program has become the most successful and effective social security program, according to Shazia Atta Marri, Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security.
She informed the Sindh Assembly in Karachi that the National Poverty Fund, National Poverty Graduates Program, Baitul-Mal, Benazir Kafalat, Benazir Nasho Numa, and other programs are being used by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Security to help the poorest people in the nation, especially women, gain financial empowerment.
