The Project
Japan provided $44,025 through its Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Grant Assistance Programme.
The school was built by the Community Services Program, an NGO working with vulnerable and marginalised communities in education, healthcare, clean water and women’s empowerment.
It has eight classrooms, a principal’s office, washrooms, a playground and 250 chairs, and gives its 240 enrolled students a safer and more comfortable learning environment.
Ambassador’s Message
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Akamatsu congratulated the organisers on completing the project despite challenging weather. He said education is a fundamental human right and a key pillar of human security, stressed the importance of girls’ education for Pakistan’s future, and said education remains a top priority in Japan’s development cooperation with Pakistan.
