NSC chief Gen Aamer Raza tells PMA graduates Pakistan is ready to defend every inch, backs peace efforts, and supports Palestine and Kashmir.
General Syed Aamer Raza, chief of the National Strategic Command, said there is no room for conflict or war in an environment involving nuclear weapons. He was addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, Abbottabad, on Saturday, October 17.
Defence Readiness
He said Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend every inch of the country and safeguard its sovereignty, and that cross-border infiltration will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He warned that any miscalculation by an adversary would be met with a response far beyond its expectations. He also paid tribute to soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for national security, and reminded the graduating cadets that the nation’s security, dignity and sovereignty rest on their shoulders.
Role in Regional Peace
General Raza said Pakistan has played a positive role in restoring regional stability, pointing to the Islamabad Agreement as an example of its commitment to de-escalation and its role as a mediator. He described the Makkah Agreement as a continuation of the same vision for lasting peace.
Palestine and Kashmir
He reiterated Pakistan’s diplomatic, moral and political support for the Palestinian people and called for an immediate end to human rights violations in Palestine. On Kashmir, he described the dispute as an unfinished agenda of the Partition of India and called for its resolution in line with United Nations resolutions.
The Ceremony
He congratulated the graduating cadets and their parents, praised the participation of female cadets, and extended good wishes to cadets from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other friendly countries. The parade marked the passing out of the 154th PMA Long Course, 39th Technical Graduate Course, 73rd Integrated Course and 28th Lady Cadet Course.
