ISPR has made a documentary on the Karakoram Highway project which will be aired on PTV on January 1st, 2022.

On January 1, PTV will air “Karakoram Highway – Where Men and Mountains Meet” a documentary produced by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in collaboration with Delirium Productions and the Frontier Works Organization. The documentary presents the unseen sacrifices and hard work that was made by many officials and individuals which led to the construction of the highway.

The airing was announced by Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudry on Twitter. The minister labeled the documentary as “Tribute to our heroes.” The trailer of the documentary was released on 12 December on YouTube by the media wing of the Military. The documentary has been directed by Zohaib Pervaiz.

The Documentary will allow the viewers to indulge in the prolific moments that led to the creation of the Karakoram Highway. The Karakorum Highway (KKH) is a 1300 km long highway that is commonly referred to as the world’s eighth wonder. It is also known as the “Friendship Highway” and is a symbol of Pak-China friendship. This colossal project has resulted in innumerable sacrifices, to the point where the phrase “A soul for every mile” was born.

According to ISPR, “KKH is the dream project of complete nation achieved through sacrifices rendered by 813 Pakistani’s embracing martyrdom during the manifestation phase. These Martyrs include 567 military and 246 civilians. 982 Pakistani’s have also suffered major injuries during the process.”The documentary “Where Men and Mountains Meet” will honor and recall the historical situation. It will further allow Pakistani’s to witness what went behind the construction and development of the project.
