Netflix will show every match of the 2030 World Cup to audiences in Spain and Andorra, the company announced on Tuesday. In a statement, Netflix said it will offer all 104 matches live. It is the first time the subscription platform will show the men’s World Cup.
Free Matches
As part of the agreement, one game per match-day will be available to watch for free in Spain. A national free-to-air TV channel will also show all of Spain’s games and the final, among other matches.
About the 2030 World Cup
Spain, the reigning champions, will co-host the 2030 tournament with Portugal and Morocco, while Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will also host matches to mark the tournament’s centenary.
Netflix and Live Sport
The deal reinforces Netflix’s approach of competing with traditional broadcasters to show live sporting events. The company already holds the rights in the United States and Canada to the 2027 and 2031 editions of the women’s World Cup.
