The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has decided to ban unvaccinated citizens from traveling by air from 10 September.

The nerve center of Pakistan’s COVID-19 response has taken this decision on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health to speed up the vaccination campaign across the country.

In an official statement, the NCOC said that COVID-19 vaccination certificates will be mandatory for air travel after 10 September and unvaccinated citizens will not be allowed to board the flights.

NCOC has also decided to revoke partial COVID-19 vaccination certificates from 10 September while the interval between the first and second doses of Coronavirus vaccines has been reduced from 42 days to 28 days.

Speaking to the media in this regard, NCOC Chief and Federal Planning Minister, Asad Umar, urged the citizens to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest to keep using essential services across the country.

Earlier this week, the NCOC had also declared the COVID-19 vaccination certificates mandatory for train travel from 1 October.
