Govt employees likely to get salary raise in FY2023-24 budget

According to sources, Salary increases for government personnel are likely in the FY2023-24 budget

According to details, the total budget outlay will be more than Rs14,000 billion, with an expected shortfall of Rs5,000 billion.

According to the sources, the wage increase has been suggested for government personnel in the future FY2023-24 budget, and the government and finance ministry are divided on the percentage of the compensation increase.

According to insiders, the government intends to announce a 30% pay increase in the 2019 budget, while the finance ministry proposes a 15% to 20% rise.

In the 2019 budget, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is expected to collect Rs 9,200 billion. A proposal for increasing aid under the Benazir Income Support Programme is also being advanced.

According to sources, the federal budget for fiscal year 2023-24 will be presented to the cabinet and Parliament in the first week of June.

“The new fiscal year budget is likely to be prepared under IMF supervision.”
