HEC Warns Public Against Fake Degree Attestation Agents

HEC warns Pakistanis against fake agents offering degree attestation services and urges applicants to use its official online portal.
HEC Issues Public Warning
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned students and the general public against individuals posing as authorised agents and offering assistance with degree attestation.
In a public advisory issued on November 3, 2026, the commission said some individuals were claiming to facilitate the attestation of academic certificates and other educational documents in exchange for services.
HEC urged applicants to remain cautious and avoid sharing personal information, academic records or original documents with unauthorised individuals.
Degree Attestation Process Is Online
The commission clarified that its degree attestation system is fully online and paperless. Applicants can submit requests themselves through the official HEC e-services portal without hiring an intermediary.
The process includes online application submission, document scrutiny, university verification and issuance of an electronic attestation certificate.
Use Official HEC Channels
HEC advised applicants to follow instructions available on its official website and avoid people or platforms claiming to provide special access to attestation services.
Applicants who need assistance can contact the HEC helpline at 051-111-119-432 or 0334-1119432.
The commission has urged citizens to protect their academic records and personal information by using only authorised channels.
