A direct weekly shipping service from Karachi Port to Europe has been restored, reconnecting Pakistan with seven European ports and giving a boost to the country’s export industry. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said MSC has relaunched its ‘Premium i-Pak’ service, restoring the weekly connection from Karachi Gateway Terminal to Europe.
Relief for Exporters
Chaudhry said the restoration is a significant development for Pakistani exporters and will provide much-needed relief to the export industry by improving shipping connectivity between Karachi and Europe. The direct route is expected to help move export goods, including textiles, straight to European markets, supporting exporters who rely on efficient and reliable maritime connectivity.
Credit to KPT and KGTL
The minister said efforts to restore the direct service had borne fruit. He particularly commended the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) chairman and the management of Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited (KGTL), describing their role in the restoration as commendable.
