The IMF has recognized Pakistan’s stronger economic stability, resilience and policy credibility, Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said. He was commenting on the staff-level agreement reached between Pakistan and the IMF, which is reported to cover a $1.2 billion tranche. In a post on X, he described the agreement as a significant milestone for Pakistan’s economic stabilization and reform journey.

Khurram Schehzad said Pakistan is demonstrating its ability to withstand external shocks, preserve macroeconomic stability, strengthen institutional credibility and regain international investor confidence.
Independent Recognition
He said the IMF’s assessment provides important independent recognition that macroeconomic stabilization is being accompanied by continued reform implementation. He added that it also reinforces the importance of sustaining and deepening this momentum.
