Ticket prices have surged ahead of the highly-anticipated Pakistan vs. India match at the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York on June 9.

According to Daily Jang, tickets previously priced at $1300 are now being sold for over $2500, nearly double the original price.

The increase in ticket prices is attributed to the high demand, driven by the significant number of Pakistanis and Indians who have immigrated to the United States and Canada in recent years.

India has emerged victorious six times in seven attempts in T20 World Cup matches against Pakistan, including a win in the final in 2007 and most recently in Melbourne in 2022.

The T20 World Cup will be held at three venues in the USA and six in the West Indies from June 1 to 29.

The tournament will kick off with USA facing Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

Notably, 20 qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round, where they will be divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will then proceed to the semi-finals, with the winners competing in the final on June 29.

England currently holds the title of defending champions after defeating Pakistan in the final in 2022.

Groups for T20 World Cup 2024: Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal
