Authorities Tighten Road Safety Measures

The revised penalties were announced as Ring Road authorities stepped up action against traffic violations. Officials have called for stronger enforcement against overspeeding, unauthorised motorcycle entry and unsafe pedestrian crossings.

Enforcement figures reported for September included thousands of cases involving speeding, overloading, unlicensed driving and vehicles without proper number plates.

What Should Motorists Know?

Drivers should carry a valid licence, follow speed limits, use the correct lane and wear seat belts. They should also ensure their vehicles have proper number plates and avoid prohibited routes.

Motorists should note that Ring Road penalties may differ from the separate fine schedule used by Lahore City Traffic Police. Drivers should check the applicable rules for the road they are using.
