England Reveal Strong ODI Squad for Pakistan Tri-Series
Harry Brook retains the captaincy as Adil Rashid and Sam Curran return from injury, while leg-spinner Mason Crane earns his first ODI call-up eight years after his only Test appearance.

England name a 16-man ODI squad led by Harry Brook for the tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, running October 20-29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
England have named a 16-man ODI squad for the tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with Harry Brook as captain. According to the ICC, the series will feature Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka, with matches scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 20 to 29, and the final featuring the top two sides.
Returns and Absences
Adil Rashid and all-rounder Sam Curran return to the squad after recovering from hand and groin injuries respectively. England will be without Jos Buttler, who suffered a hamstring injury during the second ODI against Sri Lanka — Jordan Cox scored 76 from 52 balls in his absence as England reached 355 in the series decider at The Oval. Jofra Archer has been rested for the Pakistan tour.
A Call-Up Eight Years in the Making
Leg-spinner Mason Crane, 29, receives his first ODI call-up, eight years after his only Test appearance in the final Test of the 2018 Ashes in Sydney. He has also played two T20 internationals and is in contention for his ODI debut. Young all-rounder James Coles, 22, and pacer Henry Crocombe, 21, round out the squad, both having featured in England's recent white-ball series against Sri Lanka.
Building Toward 2027
Brook remains captain after England's 2-1 ODI series win over Sri Lanka on home soil last month, with the Pakistan tour opener in Rawalpindi on October 20 forming part of England's preparations for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2027.
England squad: Harry Brook (captain), Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Tom Banton, James Coles, Jordan Cox, Mason Crane, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Joe Root and Josh Tongue.
