The Pakistan Hockey League (PHL) will officially open in Islamabad on October 14, with plans to launch six to eight franchise teams in its first season. The league is being planned along the lines of the FIH Pro League and the Hockey India League, aiming to bring the private and corporate sectors into hockey and create commercial opportunities through franchise ownership, broadcasting, sponsorship, digital content, and other activities.
International Talent Involved
Foreign players are also expected to take part in the league. Their participation, along with the involvement of international experts, is intended to give Pakistani players and professionals valuable international experience.
Beyond the League Itself
The league will also focus on sports science, youth development, and grassroots hockey.
