Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday, underscoring a pivotal moment in bilateral relations.

Welcomed by PM Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s office, the Saudi delegation, led by Prince Faisal bin Farhan, comprised distinguished members including Saudi Minister of Water and Agriculture Eng Abdul Rahman Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Deputy Minister of Investment Badr AlBadr, Head of Saudi Special Committee Mohammad Mazyed Al Towaijri, and senior officials from the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Fund for General Investments.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, along with other cabinet members, extended a warm welcome to the delegation upon their arrival at the airport the previous day.

This high-profile visit aimed to accelerate the implementation of agreements reached between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman during their recent meeting in Makkah, aimed at bolstering bilateral economic cooperation.

Anticipated to inject momentum into bilateral ties, the visit holds promise for fostering a mutually beneficial economic partnership between the two nations. Pakistan, aspiring to attract substantial investment from Saudi Arabia, has initiated efforts through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a collaborative platform designed to address bureaucratic impediments hindering foreign investment.

During PM Shehbaz’s recent visit to the Kingdom, discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman led to an agreement to fast-track the initial phase of a planned $5 billion investment package for Pakistan.

Additionally, the Saudi Foreign Minister is scheduled to convene with the apex committee of SIFC to finalize investment projects, further solidifying economic cooperation between the two countries.
