DUBAI – Pakistan’s cricketers have made significant progress in the latest ICC T20I rankings following their impressive performance in the recent three-match series against the West Indies.

Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz climbed 24 spots to secure the 30th position with 569 rating points, courtesy of a consistent showing that saw him score 79 runs in the series. Series top-scorer Saim Ayub, with 130 runs including two half-centuries, jumped 25 places to 37th position with 559 points.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan, who contributed 91 runs, made one of the biggest jumps, climbing 34 places to 63rd with 484 rating points. Captain Salman Ali Agha and experienced batter Fakhar Zaman also moved up the rankings, rising to 76th and 78th places, respectively.

However, senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan—inactive in T20Is since 2024—dropped three places each to 17th and 19th. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris fell 21 spots to 86th after a poor run in the Caribbean.

India’s Abhishek Sharma retained his place as the world’s top T20I batter, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Varma.

In bowling, no Pakistani made the top 20. Haris Rauf stayed at 26th, while Abbas Afridi slipped to 27th. Left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem was the big mover, soaring 69 places to 34th. Shaheen Afridi dropped to 36th, Mohammad Nawaz jumped 51 places to 56th, Abrar Ahmed fell to 60th, and Shadab Khan dropped to 72nd.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continued to lead the bowling rankings, with England’s Adil Rashid second and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein third.

In the all-rounders list, Shadab Khan slipped to 19th, while Saim Ayub surged 70 spots to 24th. Mohammad Nawaz climbed to 36th, Abbas Afridi fell to 56th, Iftikhar Ahmed dropped to 70th, and Faheem Ashraf rose to 77th.

India’s Hardik Pandya remains the number one T20I all-rounder, ahead of Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi.
