The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the Men’s Test and ODI Teams of the Year 2023, recognizing standout performances in the cricketing world over the past year. However, to the disappointment of Pakistani cricket fans, no players from Pakistan secured a spot in either team across formats.

Leading the Men’s Test Team of the Year is Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who also captained Australia to their historic victory in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23. Cummins had an outstanding year, claiming a total of 42 wickets. Joining him in the Test Team are fellow Australians Mitchell Starc, Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, and Alex Carey, making Australia the most represented nation with five players in the lineup.

The complete Test Team of the Year includes Usman Khawaja, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, Travis Head, Ravindra Jadeja, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (C), R Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, and Stuart Broad.

Moving on to the ODI Team of the Year, India dominated the lineup, even though they lost the World Cup final to Australia. Rohit Sharma was named captain of the team for his stellar performance throughout the year, amassing a total of 1255 runs. Other Indian players in the ODI Team include Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami.

The complete ODI Team of the Year consists of Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Travis Head, Virat Kohli, Daryl Mitchell, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Marco Jansen, Adam Zampa, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami.

In addition to the Test and ODI Teams, ICC also announced the Men’s T20I Team of the Year. The T20I Team features players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Phil Salt, Nicholas Pooran, and Suryakumar Yadav, who is also captaining the side.

The complete T20I Team of the Year comprises Yashasvi Jaiswal, Phil Salt, Nicholas Pooran, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Mark Chapman, Sikandar Raza, Alpesh Ramjani, Mark Adair, Ravi Bishnoi, Richard Ngarava, and Arshdeep Singh.
