Nationwide Passport Processing: No More City Restrictions Pending Cabinet Approval

In a significant move by the government, the Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted a proposal to the Cabinet to amend the Passport Rules, making passport processing available nationwide without city restrictions.

Once approved, the amendment will allow citizens to apply for new or renewed passports from any city, streamlining the process for those seeking to travel abroad for immigration, education, or employment. This change is expected to benefit many Pakistani nationals who are actively pursuing visas for destinations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and European countries.

Additionally, fees for all categories of passports can now be deposited at any national bank, further simplifying the process for applicants.

The proposed changes will come into effect following Cabinet approval, marking a significant step toward improving passport services for all citizens.
