Face ID remained unresponsive until the PIN code was entered. An examination of their battery statistics revealed a peculiar blank period between 3 AM and 7 AM, suggesting that the phone had undergone a shutdown and subsequent reboot.
Importantly, this issue is not limited to those using beta versions; the majority of affected users were on iOS 17.0.3. What’s even more striking is that it’s not confined to the newest iPhone 15 models; it’s also affecting older devices like the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Mini, with users from around the world reporting the same problem.
Several theories have been circulating to explain this issue. One hypothesis suggests that Apple’s servers may have triggered a mass shutdown request, but this alone doesn’t account for the unexpected reboot.
