Hadiqa Kiani’s Ongoing Humanitarian Contributions
Hadiqa Kiani has long been involved in humanitarian work, frequently supporting relief efforts during natural disasters in Pakistan such as floods and earthquakes. Her foundation, Vaseela, notably rebuilt three villages in Balochistan devastated by floods in 2022. She also coordinated relief supply distributions during the 2025 floods in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Her efforts earned her a place on the BBC’s 100 Women list for 2024.
Context of the Fundraising Effort
The fundraising tour aims to aid widows and orphans affected by the recent conflict in Gaza, where violence has resulted in significant civilian casualties. Despite a ceasefire months ago intended to end a two-year war, Israeli airstrikes have continued, including a recent attack that killed 11 people, among them three journalists.
