Govt's plan for departments’ rightsizing is ready, says Aurangzeb
Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb announced on Thursday that the government has finalized a plan for the rightsizing of various departments to improve efficiency and reduce expenditures.
Speaking at a conference in Islamabad, he emphasized that the economy is moving in the right direction and that the government remains committed to achieving its economic targets. He also stressed the importance of ensuring a transparent privatization process.
Aurangzeb highlighted that ongoing reforms have led to an increase in tax collection, stating, "We simply cannot afford for people to continue evading taxes." Additionally, he noted that the government is actively working on expenditure reduction while pointing out a continuous decline in interest rates.
He further expressed optimism about the efforts of provincial governments in implementing an agricultural tax, which is expected to contribute to economic stability and revenue generation.
