Govt notifies special court to hear cases under Official Secrets Act

On Monday, a special court in Islamabad was established to hear complaints submitted under the Official Secrets Act, according to Geo News.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) detained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday, and he is scheduled to appear before the special court soon for the hearing of a cipher case submitted under the same act.

Abul Hasnat, a judge on the Anti-terrorism Court (ATC), has been given expanded authority to handle matters involving the Official Secrets Act.
