Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will lead Pakistan’s delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting in Moscow on November 17–18, the Foreign Office has confirmed.
The SCO summit, called at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, will host heads of government from member states, including China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the vice president of Iran and foreign ministers from Pakistan and India.
Dar is expected to deliver a speech on Pakistan’s stance regarding key regional and global issues, while proposing ways to strengthen multilateral cooperation across the SCO region.
On the sidelines of the summit, he will also hold bilateral talks with leaders of other SCO nations to deepen economic and security cooperation.
The CHG (Council of Heads of Government) is the second-highest decision-making body within the SCO and plays an important role in shaping the organization’s policy on issues such as trade, connectivity, finance, and socio-economic cooperation.
