Govt Increases Returns on National Savings Schemes
Rates rise between 12 and 74 basis points across Defence, Behbood, Regular Income, Special Savings, and Islamic term accounts.

The government raises returns on multiple National Savings schemes by 12-74 basis points, including Defence, Behbood, and Special Savings Certificates.
The federal government has increased the rates of return on several national savings schemes, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance. The revised rates apply to multiple savings and investment certificates, with increases ranging from 12 to 74 basis points.
Defence Savings Certificate
The rate of return has been increased by 19 basis points to 11.80%.
Behbood and Pensioners Benefit Certificates
The rate on the Behbood Savings Certificate and Pensioners Benefit Account has been increased by 12 basis points to 12.72%.
Regular Income Certificate
The return has increased by 60 basis points, taking the new rate to 11.76%.
Special Savings Certificate
The rate has been increased by 74 basis points — the largest jump among the schemes — bringing the new return to 11.82%.
Sarwa Islamic Accounts
The three-year account's profit rate has risen by 41 basis points to 11.57%, while the five-year account's rate has increased by 54 basis points to 11.70%.
The revised rates will apply according to the terms and conditions specified in the Ministry of Finance notification.
