Overseas Pakistanis Can Register Mobile Phones Tax-Free for 120 Days

PTA allows overseas Pakistanis and foreign visitors to register one mobile phone tax-free for up to 120 days per visit to Pakistan.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has provided a temporary mobile phone registration facility for overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting Pakistan.
Under the facility, eligible visitors can use their personal mobile phones on local networks for up to 120 days per visit without paying applicable phone taxes during the approved period.
How to Register a Mobile Phone
Applicants can use the online Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) portal to submit their details.
Overseas Pakistanis must provide their CNIC or NICOP details, passport information, mobile phone IMEI number and a Pakistani mobile number registered in their own name. Foreign visitors must provide their passport details.
After submitting the application, users must complete verification through a one-time password (OTP).
The facility covers one mobile phone per applicant. Registration must be completed again on a future visit, and the temporary approval expires after 120 days.
