Apple on Tuesday, October 13, began showing a new round of smart home products, led by the HomeView, an iPad-like device meant to hang on a wall or sit on a tabletop and showcase its AI-upgraded Siri assistant. This confirms the device that had been the subject of earlier leaks.

Price and availability: It starts at $299 and begins shipping next month.
Features: A 7-inch screen and face recognition, with controls for doorbells, thermostats and smart locks.
Siri: In a demo video, HomeView and Siri handled voice requests from several family members at the same time. Apple upgraded Siri’s capabilities this summer with help from Google.
