Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro Leak: Design, Battery and Chip Details Surface Ahead of 2027 Launch

Samsung is reportedly preparing a fourth flagship in its Galaxy S27 family, the Galaxy S27 Pro, according to multiple leaks from South Korean outlet ETNews, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, and other supply chain sources. Samsung has not officially confirmed the device.

Design and Display

Leaked CAD renders show the Galaxy S27 Pro measuring 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95 mm, roughly 9mm shorter and 5mm narrower than the Ultra. Reports differ slightly on screen size, with some pegging it at 6.6 inches and others at 6.47 inches. The design reportedly inherits the Ultra's new camera island layout, described as similar to Apple's iPhone 17 Pro's rear camera plateau, replacing the individual lens rings used in previous generations. Unlike the Ultra, the Pro will not support the S Pen.

Processor and Memory

The Pro is tipped to share the Ultra's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip (referred to in some reports as the "Extreme" variant), with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Samsung may also use its own Exynos 2700 chipset in select markets, continuing its historical practice of regional chipset variation.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity remains unsettled across sources: some reports cite 5,000mAh, while others point to 5,200mAh using silicon-carbon battery technology. Reports agree the Pro will support 60W wired charging, matching the Ultra's charging speed.

Camera Setup

The Pro is expected to carry a 200MP primary sensor and 50MP ultrawide, matching the Ultra's specs. The telephoto lens is where reports diverge — some sources say a 50MP periscope with 5x optical zoom, while others cite a smaller 12MP sensor with 3x optical zoom, suggesting the zoom camera may be the main compromise between the Pro and Ultra.

Privacy Display Technology

Some reports indicate the Pro could get the Ultra's hardware-level Privacy Display technology, a feature currently exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Expected Pricing

According to PhoneArena, the Pro is expected to launch $100 to $200 below the Ultra's starting price. Based on the Galaxy S26 Ultra's $1,299 starting price, that would put the Pro somewhere around $1,099 to $1,199.

Samsung previously planned a Galaxy S26 Pro that was quietly shelved before its Unpacked event last year, so the S27 Pro's actual release remains unconfirmed until Samsung's 2027 Unpacked event.
