Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Umar Ayub filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Prime Ministerial elections. Shehbaz is the joint candidate of PML-N and PPP, while Umar Ayub represents the Sunni Ittehad Council.
The National Assembly Secretariat received the nomination papers within the specified timeframe as per the election schedule issued earlier this week. The election for the prime minister is set for Sunday, March 3.
The Prime Minister will be elected by Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) in accordance with the rules. The submission deadline for nomination papers concluded on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
