Qatari man wins gold in Geneva for world’s first smart prayer rug

At the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, a Qatari man was awarded gold media for designing the world's first smart prayer rug.

Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis, a Qatari engineer, has titled his invention Sajadah. It has a small screen with lights and built-in speakers that provide simple directions for over 25 prayers in both English and Arabic.

"Sajdah, the World's First Smart Educational Prayer Rug for Every Muslim," educates new Muslims on how to pray properly without worry. Muslims can further enhance their prayer experience by reading the Qur'an from the LED screen of the Sajdah during Taraweeh, Qyam, and other prayers." In a tweet, Khamis describes his innovation.
