PTI’s Ali Amin Gandapur Elected as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister

Ali Amin Gandapur has been elected as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, securing 90 votes from the members of the new assembly.

Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Babar Saleem Swati has been elected as the Speaker of the KP Assembly, garnering 89 votes out of a total of 106 votes. His opponent candidate received 17 votes. Babar Saleem Swati has been sworn in as the Speaker of the KP Assembly.

Members of the Sunni Ittehad Council extended their congratulations to the newly elected Speaker of the provincial assembly. Suriya Bibi was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the KP Assembly and also took the oath of office.

The KP Assembly session has been adjourned until Friday at 10 am. Speaker Saleem Swati announced that the provincial assembly will hold the elections for the Chief Minister on Friday.

PML-N’s Sobia Shahid displayed a shoe to the House and also lodged a complaint against the nominated KP Chief Minister Ali Main Gandapur regarding the slogans being shouted from the treasury benches towards her.

The commotion ensued when PML-N MP Sobia Shahid arrived at the polling booth to cast her vote.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session commenced under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani to elect the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.
