Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has directed relevant authorities to remain on high alert and take all necessary precautionary measures during this week’s monsoon spell in the province.
In an official statement, PDMA, while quoting Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), said that widespread thunderstorm and rain of moderate to heavy intensity is expected over the catchments of all the major rivers along with North, Northeast Punjab and DG Khan divisions from 27 to 30 July.
As a result, high floods are expected in Jhelum River upstream Mangla and in Chenab River at Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad from 28 to 30 July.
