Pakistan Considers Action Against Officers Who Conceal Dual Citizenship

Pakistan considers action against government officers who fail to declare foreign nationality as authorities review disclosure records.
The federal government is considering action against government officers who have failed to disclose their foreign nationality, following a review by a Senate committee on October 28.
Officials informed the committee that around 2,900 officers were covered by the disclosure process. Of these, 1,095 had submitted declarations, while 95 had declared foreign nationality.
Non-Disclosure May Lead to Action
A summary has been sent to the prime minister seeking approval to proceed against officers who have not submitted the required declarations.
Under the Civil Servants (Disclosure and Regulation of Foreign Nationality) Rules, 2026, failure to provide the required information or submitting false details may be treated as misconduct under applicable service rules.
Authorities are using systems linked with NADRA and the Integrated Border Management System to help identify cases involving undisclosed foreign nationality.
