Senator Sherry Rehman has warned that Pakistan’s population could reach 390 million by 2050 if current growth trends continue.
She said the rising population would increase pressure on essential resources and public services, including food, water, healthcare, education, housing and employment.

Rehman called for stronger parliamentary leadership and coordination between federal and provincial governments to address population growth.
She also stressed the importance of public awareness, girls’ education, healthcare and access to voluntary family planning services to improve living standards and support sustainable development.
