Pakistan Enhancing Economic ties with Germany

Germany expressed its intentions to increase investments in Pakistan's Diverse Sectors and boost trade relations, on Monday. In a press conference in Berlin, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Foreign Minis­ter Shah Mahmood Qureshi agreed on strengthening bilateral ties with a focus on increasing trade and investments.

Furthermore, Mr. Qureshi's visit to Germany was considered a good opportunity for launching new German projects in Pakistan said, Mr. Maas.

He also expressed his contentment over the interest of 35 German companies which were ready to invest in Pakistan.

Mr. Qureshi mentioned that Germany had played an important role in bringing rationality to Afghanistan and pledged that Pakistan would remain in correspondence on the issue at every forum, be it the Istanbul Peace Process or Doha forum. In accordance with that Mr. Maas addressed Pakistan’s contribution towards the restoration of peace in Afghanistan and for hosting three million Afghan refugees.

Hence, the conference led to delegation-level talks revolving around the issues related to trade, energy, visa strategy, and peace in Afghanistan.
