Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday that Royal Military College Duntroon has named Pakistan Army Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas as the “overall best foreign military cadet.”
According to the statement, the Australian RMC Duntroon conferred this title on Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas (PMA 152 Long Course) during the passing-out parade held in Canberra on May 5.
The award is given to the highest-performing foreign cadet across all areas of training.
ISPR noted that this achievement reflects the high standards of professionalism, dedication, and excellence displayed by the Pakistan Army’s junior leadership.
The commissioning parade was reviewed by Simon Stuart, the Chief of Army of Australia, along with other senior officials. The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic community, including Pakistan’s high commissioner in Canberra, families of the graduating cadets, and officials from the Australian Defence Force.
The statement also highlighted the long-standing military ties between Pakistan and Australia. Since 2013, seven Pakistan Army officers have served as platoon commanders at RMC, while 46 Pakistani cadets have graduated from the institution since 2009.
It added that this is the 14th time a Pakistan Army cadet has been awarded the title of “overall best foreign military cadet” by RMC.
Among previous recipients is Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria, who was martyred on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan.
ISPR further stated that Lieutenant Nasir Shaheed’s name is inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, symbolising the lasting legacy of courage, sacrifice, and honour upheld by Pakistan Army officers.
