Orange Line Metro Train to get launched this Sunday

On 25th October, the government of Punjab will inaugurate its Orange Line Metro Train in the city of Lahore. The launch ceremony is going to take place this coming Sunday.

This system of transportation will help save the government PKR 60 Billion on yearly basis. The government expects that 88 Million will make use of this transportation facility.

Moreover, the government claims that the Orange Line Metro will lessen the time that gets consumed in the travel. It will help in reducing pollution and traffic in the city. It costs a fixed price of 40 rupees per passenger.

The Punjab Government will be awarding annual subsidy of Rs5.62 billion to the Orange Line Metro Train service. As per the officials, each train has a capacity of 1,000 passengers and about 250,000 people will be able to travel on them daily. pic.twitter.com/bSBQdLXq7z

The total length of the Metro track is 27.1 Kilometers, 25 Kilometers of which is above the ground and the remaining 1.72 Kilometers is below the ground level.
