Saudi air defences destroy a ballistic missile over Riyadh on Wednesday; one person is injured by falling debris, civil defence says.
Saudi air defence systems destroyed a ballistic missile over Riyadh on Wednesday, October 14, and one person was injured when debris fell on a residential area, Saudi authorities said. The Saudi civil defence said the falling debris also caused minor damage to a house and a vehicle.
Earlier Attacks
Earlier, Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed several missiles and drones launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi group, as fighting between the group and the Saudi-led coalition intensified. The attacks targeted several locations across the kingdom, including Riyadh and Dhahran in the east, where a building belonging to state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco was targeted.
Saudi authorities had earlier reported that four people were injured in Riyadh by debris from intercepted missiles, which damaged 15 homes. A limited fire also broke out at the Aramco facility in Dhahran, and officials confirmed that no one was injured or killed there.
