Iran Warns US Warships Against Entering Persian Gulf
The head of Iran’s armed forces says US naval vessels will not be allowed into the Gulf, as tensions rise over possible renewed attacks.

Iran’s armed forces chief of staff says US warships will not be allowed into the Persian Gulf, as the US ambassador to Türkiye warns of possible strikes.
Iran has warned that US warships will not be allowed to re-enter the Persian Gulf, as tensions rise amid threats of renewed American and Israeli attacks. Major General Ali Abdollahi, chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces and commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the remarks, which were carried by Iranian state media on Saturday, October 24.
Iran’s Statements
Abdollahi said Iranian forces had weakened the US Navy’s ability to approach the Gulf and Iran’s territorial waters, and that US ships would not be allowed in “under any circumstances and at any time”.
He asked why US warships were not approaching the Strait of Hormuz if Washington was certain it had eliminated Iran’s military capabilities.
He accused President Donald Trump of making contradictory statements on Iran’s nuclear programme, and warned that a prolonged confrontation would draw the US deeper into the conflict.
His claims about the US Navy’s capabilities have not been independently verified.
Wider Tensions
US Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack has said Washington could “absolutely” strike Iran as soon as the weekend. The Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are central to regional security and global energy shipping.
