IMF demands ‘Do More’ from Pakistan for tax recovery
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterLinkedinWhatsapp

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has demanded Pakistan to ‘Do More’ for tax collection.

The international lender is specifically pushing for increased income tax collection from retailers and the real estate sector, along with a higher focus on recovering income tax from agricultural income.

The IMF has recommended that both the federal government and provinces collaborate to enhance tax recovery. In the event of a deficit in tax collection, a fixed tax on retailers may be implemented after December.
