Former Pakistani pacer and captain of the national cricket team, Wasim Akram was formally inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame on Sunday. For his services to the cricket of Pakistan, the pacer is widely lauded for his success.
Known to the world as arguably, the best skilled left-arm fast bowler in cricket history, Wasim Akram represented Pakistan in 356 ODIs (One Day Internationals). With 502 wickets in the ODIs and 414 wickets in 104 test matches, the pacer has immense success.
PCB launched the Hall of Fame in April 2021 to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Pakistani cricket legends. Preserving the rich cricket history of South Asia, the best players are inducted into the list.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement, “1992 World Cup winner and former captain Wasim Akram, who took a total of 916 wickets and scored 6,615 runs in an international career from 1984 to 2003, was formally inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame on Sunday,”.
The iconic and most recognized former West Indies batter Sir Viv Richards inducted Akram into the hall of fame. Ahead of the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League at Qaddafi Stadium, Akram was presented with a commemorative cap and a plaque by the West Indian.
